From August 5 to 7, 2026, MAKEIT Fiber took part in INTEX South Asia 2026 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Our team welcomed visitors at Booth Hall 4/N-14, where we shared our fiber solutions and spoke with textile professionals from Sri Lanka and across the wider South Asian region. MAKEIT Fiber at INTEX South Asia 2026, Colombo
INTEX South Asia 2026 brought together more than 250 exhibitors from over 15 countries and regions, covering apparel fabrics, cotton and polyester materials, yarns and fibers, dyes and chemicals, trims and accessories, and related textile services. As one of the largest international textile sourcing events in South Asia, the show gave MAKEIT Fiber a valuable platform to connect with manufacturers, buyers, and trade partners from the region and beyond.

Conversations with Textile Professionals from South Asia
Over the three days of the exhibition, our sales and technical team held a steady stream of conversations at the booth. Visitors included textile manufacturers, nonwoven producers, trading companies, and sourcing teams looking into polyester staple fiber options for their production lines.
Most discussions centered on practical, day-to-day sourcing concerns:
Fiber specifications and how they match specific spinning or nonwoven applications
Product consistency and quality control across order batches
Supply capacity and lead times for regular or bulk orders
Opportunities to request samples and run trial evaluations before committing to larger volumes
What We Observed About the Sri Lankan and South Asian Textile Market
A few themes came up repeatedly in our conversations at the booth:
Buyers continue to weigh cost against consistent fiber quality when choosing a supplier, rather than prioritizing price alone
Sourcing decisions are often tied closely to end application — filling, spinning, or nonwoven use each come with different specification priorities
Reliable, on-time supply and responsive communication were mentioned frequently as key factors in choosing a long-term fiber partner
Interest in recycled and more sustainably sourced materials came up in several conversations, alongside standard virgin fiber requirements
These observations reflect what we heard directly from visitors at our booth over the three-day event, and they will help shape how we support customers across Sri Lanka and the broader South Asian market going forward.
